RACHEL HENRY
Rachel's art celebrates color, form and texture with an emphasis on the female form. She works primarily with ink, colored pencil, gouache, and recycled material; occasionally with oil paint, relying on light glazes for depth and a sense of delicacy, as well as thicker paint to create texture and disrupt the serenity. Her creative process heavily relies on emotion and loss of identity, and her works are not simply just the human figure, but they are rather an appreciation of the forms. Through her work, she hopes to invoke a sense of wonder and curiosity, and she strongly encourages her viewers to question society’s views on women and how it impacts their personal identities.
